With many new projects in the works, I am excited to hire an Associate Interior Designer. JLD is looking for a talented, passionate, and imaginative Interior Designer to join our growing team. This is a creative role requiring an organized approach and a passion for your craft. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, well versed in the industry standards, high end furnishings and possess both the ability and experience to work from the concept phase through installation.

Based at JLD’s office in Montchanin, DE, this is a full-time position, offering competitive compensation, paid vacation and company holidays, and 401K with Matching after 1 year of employment.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Understanding of the principles and fundamentals of design
- Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, Chief Architect or SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Floor plans, elevations, custom furniture, window treatments, and detailed drawings are part of the drawing skills that are required.
- Rendering, hand-drawing, and 3D skills
- Must demonstrate strong capabilities in handling and overseeing projects from concept through installation.
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines & tasks
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for sophisticated design
- Impeccable design taste and alignment with Principal’s design style & philosophies
- Product and vendor knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Collaborative nature with an interest in contributing to the overall success of the firm.
- Must be professional, reliable, punctual, and able to lead client and vendor meetings
- Studio Designer software experience a plus
- Ability to drive to client and vendor locations a must. May require occasional out-of-state travel as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Support Principal and Lead Designer with all aspects of design process.
- Interpret and help bring to life the design vision for the clients
- Manage & maintain strong relationships and communication with clients & vendors
- Attend and assist with client intake meetings and installs
- Create client presentations, mood boards & renderings for internal as well as client facing design meetings.
- Assist Principal and Lead Designer in selection and allocation of textiles, and submit specifications to vendor for quotes.
- Source and document all finishes and FF&E.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals & construction documents.
- Create and monitor project budgets
- Reviewing all client facing documentation and communication for accuracy and clarity
- Maintaining weekly internal status reports and updating the Principal and design team
- Client communication and status follow-up when needed
- Survey & prepare floor plans, millwork, furniture plans, elevations, and space planning in AutoCAD.
- Produce hand drawings and computer renderings that communicate design intent as needed.
- Collaborate with outside consultants and project partners including Architects, Builders, General Contractors, Craftsmen, & more
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
