Role Description - Maritime/Litigation

The Maritime team is looking for an associate to join the department. The Maritime team is the largest team of the firm with a dynamic and exciting work portfolio.

The role will involve all contentious shipping matters and accordingly will be an incomparable opportunity to see both dry and wet side of shipping from collisions to cargo claims or from charter party disputes to pollution cases and issues involving criminal law. We are looking for energetic and ambitious attorneys that would be just as happy to travel as they do office work. The shipping clientele is the giants of the international shipping industry, mainly including the P&I clubs and underwriters, ship owners and carriers based in the UK, Europe and the PRC. There will be direct contact with a wide variety of high net worth clients and organisations.

The role is not only for those candidates who have a maritime law interest. Experienced litigator candidates who have experience in other sectors will also be a good match for the teams of ErsoyBilgehan.

Required Professional Skills and Qualifications

- University degree in law from a reputable university,

- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant department of a reputable law firm,

- Excellent Turkish and English written and oral communication skills,

- Ability to represent the firm with a high level of professionalism,

- Not only respecting but also cherishing the diversity of cultural, social and academic backgrounds found in the firm.
