Location: Downtown Portland (this is not a remote position).

Position: Associate Attorney

Considering applicant attorneys to join dedicated team of attorneys and paralegals handling highly interesting and novel cases on behalf of property management companies. Associate attorney will work with peers drafting legal correspondence and representing clients in court. Ideal candidate should be personable, professional, and interested in gaining courtroom experience. Like prosecutors and public defenders, attorneys handle a high volume of cases and must be able to quickly adapt to the needs of each case and to provide excellent customer service to clients. New attorneys receive extensive training and mentorship from senior attorneys and colleagues in a welcoming and supportive office. All attorneys of varying skill levels, welcome to apply, but attorneys with some legal experience preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend hearings and trials throughout Oregon
  • Negotiate
  • Concisely advise clients about local, state, and federal housing related laws
  • Draft pleadings and memoranda

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in Oregon or Washington (ideally both)
  • Litigation experience (2-5 years preferred; less for the right candidate)
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and research skills
  • Creative and strategic thinking

  • Ability to both work within a team and complete work assignments

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite/Office 365 and common office equipment
