is a vertically integrated private real estate investment firm founded in 1979 with primary offices in Stamford, Connecticut and Denver, Colorado. The firm focuses on grocery-anchored and necessity retail shopping centers in the Top 100 U.S. MSAs. The firm is actively investing in value-add and core-plus transactions on behalf of its institutional investors.


Position Overview:

The Associate - Leasing is a key member of our Leasing team and is responsible for driving leasing activity for the Chicago/Midwest properties within our necessity-retail anchored portfolio.


This role may be based remotely or on-site at one of our properties within the Chicago MSA and will report to the Director – Leasing.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop annual leasing budgets aligned with individual asset performance goals
  • Canvass local markets in which we operate and remain up to date on competitive activity
  • Support tenant retention efforts and lead the negotiation of lease renewals
  • Create a pipeline for new deals and negotiate all terms with local, regional and national tenants
  • Initiate construction process with the assistance of Construction and Property Management teams
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with tenants, brokers, and industry contacts
  • Travel as necessary to collaborate with local listing agents, support site tours, market engagement, and leasing events
  • Assist Asset Management and Accounting teams with financial forecasting, lease reporting, and portfolio performance analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2-5 years of experience and a proven track record in Commercial Retail Leasing
  • Established tenant and industry relationships and broker network
  • Outstanding initiative, a strong work ethic, detailed oriented, proven ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong financial and system acumen
  • Experience working with Yardi Retail Manager, Voyager, and/or similar real estate- specific software products
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and work with others in implementation of new assignments
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $110,000-$120,000
  • Annual performance bonus
