Associate Level _ Project Landscape Architect

We are hiring at Stoev Design Group and looking for Senior Associate level candidates. We solve design problems through planning, urban design and landscape architecture for clients with ambitious ideas.

Our immediate openings are for principal track positions with high levels of responsibility and authority to the firm and our clients. Leadership, strong communication and active and independent collaborative engagement are essential abilities including the following:

Associate Level // Project Landscape Architect- Leadership in problem solving, resource management, package development and delivery, and quality control. 5+ years of experience

Management Responsibilities: (coordination, scheduling, projections, workflow planning, methodology direction, tracking, cost trending)

- Leads and mentors staff understating the difference between delegating, guiding and directing tasks

- Supports the project manager to draft workflow plans

- Inform project manager if production schedule is slipping or potential rabbit holes are detected

- Always aware of status of overall project and capable of providing weekly briefs to the project manager

- Supports the project manager to track design changes impacting the base files

- Supports the technical director with quantity take-offs when requested

- Represents the project manager at coordination calls when asked

- Act as secondary point of client contact when PM is not available and backup PM duties as needed due to sickness, travel or vacation.

- Secondary author of meeting notes when asked

- Supports the PM to set up project filing system both digital & hardcopy

- Supports the PM with team coordination as needed

- Coordinates directly with design team and vendors when required

- Authors the open items agenda topics for the PM on a weekly basis or as needed

- Assures that there is consistency in the work produced by staff

- Creator and curator of the Technical Project Bible and corresponding check set

- Maintain current personal time and expense reports

- Capable of maintaining an orderly and open desk top for impromptu reviews and effective workflow

Design (inventing, problem solving, systems identification testing, diagraming, detailing)

- Supports the DD and graphic team with files and models to develop renderings

- Support the DD and TD to solve problems, select construction systems and test solutions

- Understands and protects the design intent

- Keen awareness of construction systems methodology and which systems are being used

- Keen awareness of the properties of materials used in the five primary specifications divisions; 3,4,5,6 and 32

- Prepares studies for finish grading plans, layout plans, planting plans and standard & conditional details for review.

Production (base file organization, drawing series file management, graphic and CAD standard confirmation)

- Supports and follows the SDG DD and CD Phase Delivery Standards and Master Documents Package

- Primary ownership of DD and CD packages

- Primary author of base compilation to form the base document

- Primary closer of DD and CD package deliverables

Specifying (work summary verification, material R&D, detail studies, resourcing, warranty confirmations)

- Support the DD and TD to prepare materials and finish schedules

- Secondary specifier supporting the TD to develop outline and 3-part specifications

- Secondary author of the Landscape General Notes and Requirements

- Supports the TD to research construction systems, assemblies and methodologies to specify work

- Supports the DD and TD to build the digital and hard resource and materials library

- Supports the TD to develop and manage key vendor relationships

- Supports the TD with updating the cost trending model

- Curates the project samples bin

- Curates and keeps current the materials and products technical data sheets electronically and hardcopy

QA/QC (code checks, constructability reviews, pin up reviews, desk crits, file redline reviews, sampling, mockups, testing)

- Supports the DD and TD with periodic pin up reviews to examine each portion of the work and drawing series

- Performs redline reviews of staff of in progress work products

- Always aware of the location of key code check resources

- Supports the TD to prepare peer reviews of related design team documents

Services During Construction

- Supports the TD to set up the SDC protocols and manages the SDC office support files

- Manages and keeps current the RFI and Submittal logs

- Secondary responder to pre-construction RFI’s

- Secondary submittal reviewer

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
