QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB GOAL:
Performs any combination of following instructional tasks in the library to assist teaching staff of public elementary or middle school by performing the following duties.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Composes forms, reports, letters, and other documents as required.

Shelves library materials in call number order according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System.

Writes notices concerning overdue books.
-
Repairs damaged books and processes more severely damaged books for repair at the bindery.
-
Assists in the inventory of library books and materials.
-
Oversees the general attractiveness of the library and its displays.
-
Organizes the storage and handling of audiovisual materials and equipment.
-
Supervises the scheduling of materials for classroom use.
-
Checks library materials in and out.
-
Assists students and others in locating library materials.
-
Maintains order on grounds as well as classrooms.
-
Operates audiovisual equipment, copy machines, and computers.
-
Coordinates with the instructional coach to plan and instruct students in literary unit studies
-
Perform other job duties as assigned.
