Associate Manager- Europe DTM (Generic formulations)

Job Description

As the role holder, you will be responsible for driving the commercial growth, direct‑to‑market presence, and strategic positioning of the company’s generics portfolio in the United Kingdom market. This role requires strong commercial acumen, market intelligence, and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable profitability and compliance with UK market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

You will be part of the Europe Generic Formulations Commercial team and report to the Associate Director – Commercial (UK/Europe).


In this role, you will -

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy & Market Execution:
  • Develop and implement go‑to‑market strategies for the generics portfolio in the UK to strengthen market penetration and competitive advantage.
  • Identify business opportunities, market trends, and competitor intelligence to support strategic decision‑making, market research and strategic insights for portfolio selection activities.
  • Monitor market performance , track KPIs, and optimize commercial action plans to ensure sustained revenue growth and profitability.
  • Pricing, Tendering & Contracts:
  • Lead pricing strategy, tender submissions, and commercial negotiations with UK stakeholders including hospitals, wholesalers, and retail chains.
  • Drive tendering processes , prepare business cases, ensure timely bid submissions, and align pricing decisions with cross‑functional teams.
  • Negotiate and finalize commercial contracts , supply agreements, distribution contracts, terms sheets, LOI, licencing agreements and CDAs in line with company policies.


  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, wholesalers, retailers, procurement bodies, and key customers in the UK healthcare ecosystem.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Supply Chain teams to ensure demand alignment, supply continuity, and maintain monthly demand forecasts for optimal inventory planning.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory and Compliance teams to ensure that all commercial activities adhere to UK market regulations.
  • Partner with Launch teams to drive launch execution and maintain updated market insights and supply continuity.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 7-11 years of experience in Sales, Commercial, or Business Development roles within the pharmaceutical sector, preferably with exposure to UK/Europe markets.
  • Strong understanding of UK generics market dynamics, tendering processes, pricing environment, and key customer segments; knowledge of European regulatory framework is a bonus.
  • Proven experience in commercial negotiations, tender management, and contract finalization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Salesforce, and other commercial tools.
  • MBA/PGDM from a recognized business school preferred.
