Job description:
We are a rapidly growing personal injury law firm that is seeking an ambitious, dedicated, and passionate personal injury lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to assist in opening our Houston office and conduct all types and levels of discovery, motions, petitions, depositions, mediations, select expert witnesses, prepare for trial and litigate complicated injury cases including MVA, commercial Vehicle, Truck Accidents, Motorcycle, Pedestrian, Premises Liaibility cases. This is an opportunity for an attorney who has experience and is looking to grow.
Must have first chair plaintiff personal injury trial experience and extensive deposition experience, including corporate defendants, liability and damage experts, and medical experts and case investigation experience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases and legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy· Ability to draft and file petitions with discovery, deposition preparation of plaintiffs, depositions of defendant’s, depositions of experts, mediations, review of expert affidavits, hearings, and trials.
- Experience handling contested motions
- Negotiate settlements for litigation and writing Stowers demands
- Self-motivated individual who is reliable and works hard and efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service . Salary is based on experience. We have a generous bonus structure depending on cases settled or won at trial in addition to salary.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association in Texas
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Prior experience in litigation is preferred but not required
