Associate Producer

The Associate Producer will assist the Producer/Director with coordinating television, filming, and studio productions. The Associate Producer will coordinate production location information and secure location dates and requirements for production. The Associate Producer will assist with actors and wardrobe preparation and be available for Producer and Director for coordination of crew, scripting revisions, and distribution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Write, edit, and organize scripts, run the teleprompter during live and taped studio productions, and coordinate with the producer/director/editor throughout the video production process.
  • Assist editorial staff when editing video by ensuring Producer’s and/or Director’s shot selection matches the script.
  • Assemble all raw footage after each shoot and collaborate with the Digital Intermediate Technologist (DIT) to ingest, track, and retrieve footage that supports current and future video projects as well as make sure scripts are in order.
  • Brainstorm and contribute to the development of story ideas.
  • Help guide the editorial content of the video project.
  • Manage administrative duties and ensure all media is transferred to the EMC Media Library.
  • Help execute all releases for each video production.
  • Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.
  • Record labor hours daily in the online corporate system.
  • Travel 30% as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Associate’s degree with coursework in digital media, communications, journalism entertainment (film, television, studio productions), or another relevant field preferred.
  • 5+ years of scriptwriting and editing experience.
  • Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of hire.
  • Expert level of experience with all digital production, including producing and directing.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in shooting with Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras for short and long-form films.
  • Knowledgeable in editing on Adobe Creative Suite 6 and all subsequent versions.
  • Possess basic computer skills and be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: operate a computer, use email daily, record time and materials in VIOS, conduct online research, create and use Excel spreadsheets, create and process travel expense reports, and conduct mandatory/annual online training as required.
  • Excellent research, writing skills, broadcast script, and AP style writing experience.
  • Tech-savvy and a quick study of emerging platforms for video productions.
  • Possess strong communication skills and be comfortable with talking to a wide range of customers.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a team of highly creative video producers, directors, and editors throughout the video production process.
  • Ability to provide support services outside of normal duty hours.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as requested.
  • Ability to travel 30% as required.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
