Associate Producer for Eagle Television
Santa Margarita Catholic High School is accepting applications for an Associate Producer for Eagle Television.
Position Title: Associate Producer for Eagle Television
Job Classification: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Eagle Television
Essential Functions:
- Ensure content and conduct of Eagle Television classes are conducive for Catholic educational institution of the Diocese of Orange.
- The instruction of classes under Eagle Television will be determined by the Director of Eagle Television and the Assistant Principal of Academics.
- Required to help supervise the Eagle Television News Show.
- Work within time-sensitive environments for live broadcasts and event filming.
- Responsible for supervision of Eagle Television Studio and film equipment during class time and school hours.
- Ensure all studio and film equipment maintain working order and are accounted for following student use. This requires an inspection after every class period, at the end of the workday, and in the morning before class begins.
- Provide technical and craft support to students during class and events.
- Assist with turning studio equipment on/off.
- Skilled operation of any broadcast and film equipment as needed.
- Support department with the production and editing of photos and videos for the Eagle TV daily show/social media, SMCHS websites/social media, and for other SMCHS related projects/needs.
- Cover campus events and news with stories and video including performing arts, special activities and coverage of SMCHS sports teams.
- Supervision and filming/equipment operation at Eagle TV livestreams, event recordings, and productions outside school hours as needed. A semester calendar will be created with the Director of Eagle Television at the start of each term and will be subject to change.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Administration.
Qualifications/Requirements: Any degree discipline is acceptable with a relevant qualification in journalism, communications, English or media studies. A degree in Engineering, Television/Film Production, or Broadcast Journalism is preferred. At least one year of broadcast experience in a TV studio or equivalent production environment. Proficient in Windows, Adobe Premiere Pro, and professional grade film/studio cameras. Experience in maintaining and operating equipment and knowledge of audio and video software applications.
Capable of reading and understanding schematics and technical manuals in order to effectively follow installation instructions for audio and visual equipment. Be able to troubleshoot and diagnose video and audio issues. Excellent time management skills and the ability to recall extensive technical knowledge quickly. The ability to prioritize and shift work priorities quickly, maintaining flexibly and quick response time.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds. The employee may need to adapt to multi-temperature work environments. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 10-month (40 hours per week) that will fluctuate depending on production schedules for both on campus productions, class schedules and off campus events. Daytime, evenings, and weekends often required.
Pay range: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually. Placement on the Faculty Salary Scale.
