Coleto Brands, parent Company of Progress Lighting and Kichler, is seeking to fill a hybrid Associate Product Manager – Lighting Systems (Indoor & Landscape) near our Solon, Ohio location (candidates must live a commutable distance). The ideal candidate loves the why behind the sales figures, the how that drives our technical specs and the who that uses and installs our products. If you are dedicated to getting your job done on time and according to plan, we want you to apply!
To be successful in this role, you will be the "right hand" to our Senior Product Manager for Landscape Lighting, helping to manage the full product lifecycle—from competitive benchmarking and price analysis to coordinating launches with marketing and supply chain teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Market, Competitive and Customer Intelligence: Conduct regular "teardowns" and benchmarking of competitor lighting products. Track pricing trends, feature sets, and consumer reviews to identify gaps in our current assortment. Survey and work closely with our contractor base to identify new product needs.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Own the weekly performance dashboard. You’ll analyze sales velocity, margin health, and return rates to provide actionable insights for both the indoor and landscape portfolios.
Product Development Support: Assist in defining product requirements (PRDs). For landscape lighting, this includes technical specs like wattage, lumens, and smart-home integration; for indoor, it focuses on aesthetics, ease of installation, and light quality.
Lifecycle Management: Manage the "system of record" for all products (PLM/PIM). Ensure that SKU data, installation manuals, spec sheets and catalogs are 100% accurate.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Work closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Marketing to ensure product launches stay on schedule.
Skills and Experience:
Analytical Mindset: You are proficient in Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs are your best friends) and can turn a messy spreadsheet into a clear recommendation.
Technical Curiosity: You don’t need to be an electrician, but you should be eager to learn about lumens, color temperatures (2700K vs. 5000K), and the difference between AC and DC low-voltage systems.
Hands On: Willingness and ability to install products for demos, trade shows, field testing and customer training. Get your hands dirty working alongside our contractors to better understand their needs.
Detail Obsession: In lighting, a 1-inch difference in a stem or a slight shift in finish can make or break a product. You notice the small things.
Communication: Ability to distill complex technical data into simple "selling points" for the sales team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in product coordination or retail analytics is a plus.
Travel requirements: approximate 10% domestic travel
