Associate Professor- Electrical Engineering (Energy)

The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU), Abu Dhabi, UAE is a prominent academic unit within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences with a long tradition of excellence in academic teaching and research. EE encompasses cutting-edge fields such as energy, power, control, electronics and electromagnetics. EE offers a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and PhD in Engineering.

Requirements -

The Department of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate Professor rank in the area of “Energy/Power” with a focus on one or more of the following specializations: renewable and sustainable energy, applications of AI in energy, energy economics, energy policy or energy transition. Candidates with a strong research and teaching background in the above-mentioned areas will be considered. This position involves interdisciplinary teaching and research, catering to students from electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering backgrounds.

Qualifications and Experience -

• A Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience relevant to the position, out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor at an accredited institution.
• Candidates should have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, the ability to attract external research funding, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
