Position: Associate Project Manager – IT
Location: Dubai, UAE
Work Mode: On-site (occasional business travel required)
About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Project Manager to support and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of digital transformation and smart city initiatives. The role requires strong project management capabilities, solid IT background, and the ability to collaborate across technical and government teams in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully on time, within scope, and aligned with client and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Assist senior project managers in planning, coordinating, and delivering smart city and government digital projects.
- Support the preparation of detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Contribute to project execution by tracking progress, managing documentation, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Support the implementation of Agile or hybrid delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) as needed.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with software developers, architects, UI/UX designers, QA, data engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless communication and task alignment.
- Translate functional and business requirements into clear technical action points in coordination with senior PMs.
- Help identify delivery issues and assist in coordinating their resolution.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support communication between government clients, vendors, internal teams, and senior management.
- Participate in project meetings, stakeholder workshops, and review sessions.
- Assist in preparing and delivering progress updates and reports to clients and leadership.
Risk & Quality Management
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, and timelines under the guidance of senior PMs.
- Ensure adherence to quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Support the documentation and governance of project scope and change requests.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and updated project records, dashboards, and progress reports.
- Prepare presentation materials and status summaries for leadership and client review.
Key Requirements & Competencies
- Language Skills: Native Arabic speaker with fluent English – mandatory.
- Professional Experience: Proven background in an IT/software development company; GIS experience is a strong advantage.
- Project Management Knowledge: Solid understanding of project management methodologies; PMI certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage confidently with senior government officials, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Communication: Clear communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Analytical and decisive under pressure; proactive in anticipating risks and resolving blockers.
- Leadership: Collaborative, organized, and delivery-focused, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Cultural Awareness: Prior experience working with or within GCC government entities is highly preferred.
- Work Flexibility: Willingness to work from the office and travel occasionally for business purposes.
- International Exposure: Experience on international projects will be considered an added advantage.
