Position Summary

The Quality Assurance function is responsible for ensuring that aluminum conductors are manufactured in compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements. The QA team oversees raw material inspection, in-process quality control, and final product testing to ensure mechanical, electrical, and dimensional conformity. The function plays a critical role in defect prevention, root cause analysis, continuous process improvement, and maintaining certifications such as ISO,NABL,BIS etc and relevant electrical standards, while supporting customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

This role focuses on optimizing resources, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, minimize the down time by timely planning for the pass changes and guides and ensuring the achievement of Business Objectives.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Ensure that test strictly as per standard test methods
• Ensuring technical validity of results
• Overall Control of SEL-LAB’s activities.
• Control & duly calibration & AMC of test equipment, standards & reference materials
• Control on preventive maintenance of test equipment & apparatus
• Estimation of uncertainty in measurement
• Control of test data
• Carry out periodic customer satisfaction survey & analysis
• Ensure participation in Inter-lab comparison & proficiency testing
• Ensure confidentiality of customer information & proprietary rights
• To conduct all cross checks, quality control checks, repeatability tests and to initiate appropriate corrections / corrective actions in case of nonconforming test work / undesirable situations.
• Controlling of records pertaining to the activities in technical department
• Ensuring adequate training of the personnel under control
• Ensure proper health, safety & housekeeping in the lab.
• Reviewing the reports of internal / external audits & minutes of MRM to ensure timely completion of actions pertaining to the technical department.
• End to End solution to Customer feedback received. Site visit for Conductor installation and provide solution to Post installation issue.
• Timely execution of SAT (Site acceptance Test) of Conductor cable post delivery to clear the Payments on time.
• Co-ordination with Production team and SCM for timely delver the cable for customer feedback for client project execution.
• Closely with sales and customer technical team to understand the pre and post installation issue to give best solution to Customer. Developing and deploying the team for Conductor testing at Site
• Leading the QA activity for on time FAT/Inspection with dealing with CSO and external customer for smooth completion of inspection. Monitoring timely RG1 to be done for timely giving IC to meet monthly sales target. Maintaining Quality Master data & Quality planning data in SAP win line with business requirement .
• Closely supervise the in- process quality activity, testing at various production stages. Timely release the material in SAP at various process stage.
• Customer Complaint MIS & COPQ to be prepared and shared with top management.
• Must have sound Knowledge for BIS, ISO / IEC 17025:2017 standard to effective implementation and documentation for the existing scope of accreditation.
• Support the Type test and audits as per business needs
• Knowledge and understanding of various National and international standards for Power Conductor.
• Basis knowledge of quality Assurance documentation, like preparation of GTP (technical data sheet), Drum drawing, QAP/MQP, Work order/job card, Raw material spec sheet
• Knowledge /experience of handling RFQ/Tender enquiry work.
• Basic knowledge & understanding of Type tests for various conductor.(Conventional/HPC/HTLS)

Critical Success Factors - Essential

• Thorough understandings of test method standards, test plans & product specifications
• Knowledge of statutory & regulatory requirements applicable product
• Reduction in rejection rates and quality issues
• Analytical skills , QM QP , SAP QM Module
• Proficiency activities including i) ILC and ii) PT programs by accredited PT provider
• Training on requirements of ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 & NABL Specific Criteria
• Understanding and analysing of the Quality Requirement s in prot0-type testing. Active participation with sales team and technical team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ metallurgy) or equivalent B.Sc / M.Sc
• 6 to 8 years of experience in Quality assurancedepartment as Lead preferably Type testing. Well versed with QC / QA function with professional hands-on experience in Conductor testing or similar industries.
