Associate Social Services Specialist

Duties

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.
• Travel within local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, though years of relevant experience with case management, working with a vulnerable population and social service supports will be accepted in place of a degree.
• High level communication and interviewing skills.
• Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
• Able to be resilient, with critical and innovative thinking skills
• For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or another related human services field is preferred.

Pay: $40,416.00 - $43,662.72 per year
