Job Overview

We’re hiring an Associate Software Engineer (PHP) with a primary focus on Core PHP and WordPress (themes & plugins), plus solid front-end skills in Elementor, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Strong OOP concepts and problem-solving are mandatory. Experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks is a plus, not a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain WordPress sites—develop custom themes, plugins, CPTs (Custom Post Types), taxonomies, and Gutenberg blocks/ACF where needed.
• Implement new features and business logic in Core PHP, following OOP and coding standards.
• Create responsive, accessible UIs with Elementor, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; handle cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Integrate and consume REST APIs (including WordPress REST API) and third-party services.
• Optimize performance (caching, queries, assets) and ensure security best practices for PHP/WordPress.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack (PHP errors, plugin/theme conflicts, front-end bugs).
• Participate in code reviews, write clear documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• (Nice to have) Support WooCommerce customizations (templates, hooks/filters, checkout logic) when applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 6 months–1.5 years hands-on experience in web development.
• Strong proficiency in Core PHP with solid OOP fundamentals.
• Practical experience with WordPress: custom theme/plugin development, hooks/filters, CPTs, and basic WP architecture.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive design.
• Basic MySQL skills (queries, indexing fundamentals).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Nice to Have (Optional)

• Laravel or another PHP framework experience.
• Version control with Git/GitHub (branching, PRs).
• Exposure to WooCommerce (templates, actions/filters, custom checkout/flows).
• Basic knowledge of MERN (React/Node) or a modern front-end framework.
• Understanding of deployments, staging workflows, and basic DevOps concepts.
• Experience with performance tooling (PageSpeed, Lighthouse) and security hardening.
