Jockey is seeking an Associate Technical Designer, Innerwear to join our Design team!

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Designer, Innerwear, will build innerwear from concept to production, ensuring product is within block fit and standards framework. This position will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure fit and quality excellence.

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the technical garment development of the designated innerwear collections for each seasonal delivery.
  • Collaborate with the tech design team in reviewing, measuring, and recording sample submissions from manufacturers to ensure integrity of garment as specified by the tech pack.
  • Compile, analyze and input information into PLM system to deliver a comprehensive tech pack for a maker, which includes accurate measurement charts, sewing construction specifications and sample requests.
  • Participate in reviewing and analyzing design sketches and prototypes to identify potential issues.
  • Provide support in conducting fit meetings and communicating fit comments to vendors and factories, ensuring that corrections are made accurately.
  • Create and update technical specification sheets, including grading rules, construction details and material specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records of fit samples, prototypes, and technical specifications.
  • Organize, tag, and maintain tech design garment samples, ensuring their availability for meetings. Steam or press garments for fittings as needed.
  • Ensure that all support tasks are completed according to critical path calendar dates.
  • Manage multiple seasons simultaneously and effectively prioritize workloads based on calendars and seasonal timelines.
  • Conduct wear tests to ensure garment wearability and product performance; compile wear test results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in fit and construction techniques, and emerging technologies related to technical design.
  • Maintain and organize the fit sample library and pattern archives.
  • Support the tech design team in any other tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of applied experience in patternmaking, grading and construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical design or related field required.
  • Previous design and/or product development experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of garment construction and fabrics.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-through, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize own work schedule and communicate roadblocks.
  • Exposure to technical design software and tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, Gerber/Lectra/PLM systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of patternmaking and grading principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to garment fit and sizing.
  • Exposure to analyzing and solving problems related to fit and construction.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a proactive attitude.
