The Assistant Director of Student Success and Tutoring Services leads the development and delivery of high-quality, data-informed academic support programs that promote student learning, persistence, and completion. This role sets the vision for innovative, welcoming tutoring and academic assistance services, collaborates with faculty and campus partners to expand access to tutoring resources, and supports students through proactive case management within the Rocket Success Center. The Assistant Director champions student success initiatives, encourages the effective use of learning technologies, assesses program effectiveness, and fosters a student-centered culture that supports academic achievement and institutional goals.
This is a grant-funded 12-month, 40 hours per week, on-campus position. If not residing in Camden or surrounding area, relocation is required.

The primary function of the Assistant Director of Student Success and Tutoring Services is to:

Provide divisional and campus-wide leadership for academic support initiatives, including tutoring services, supplemental instruction, learning support workshops, and academic success programming that promote student learning, engagement, and persistence.

Direct the daily operations of the Tutoring Center, including the planning, coordination, and evaluation of tutoring services across disciplines.

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate peer and professional tutors to ensure high-quality, student-centered academic support.

Meet regularly with tutors to develop, implement, and assess culturally responsive tutoring practices that foster active learning, student confidence, and academic success.

Design and implement student engagement activities and initiatives such as Cram Nights, Meet Your Tutors events, exam preparation sessions, and academic skill-building workshops.

Collaborate closely with faculty to align tutoring services with course objectives, identify high-impact academic support opportunities, and encourage faculty referrals and classroom engagement with tutoring resources.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with academic departments, faculty, and campus units to promote a coordinated and shared culture of academic support.

Develop and implement college-wide strategies to identify student academic needs and proactively connect students to tutoring and learning support resources.

Promote awareness of tutoring services through outreach, marketing, classroom presentations, and campus-wide academic support campaigns.

Collect, analyze, and report tutoring utilization, student engagement, and outcome data to assess program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.

Support case management efforts in collaboration with the Rocket Success Center by connecting students to tutoring and academic resources aligned with their individual needs.

Assist with the development, implementation, and review of Tutoring Center policies, procedures, standards of practice, and training protocols.

Maintain accurate program records and reports in accordance with institutional policies and applicable privacy guidelines.

Perform related duties as assigned in support of student success and institutional goals.
Education
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
Experience
2 plus years of experience (preferred)

Work Environment
The Assistant Director of Student Success and Tutoring Services has regular contact with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners, as well as occasional interaction with external educational partners and the general public. This position may require occasional work outside of normal business hours to support tutoring programs, student engagement activities, and campus events. Limited travel may be required.
