Asst Operator

Position Overview:

• Operate and monitor Clifford grate welding machines and supporting equipment.
• Set up machines according to production schedules, specifications, and product dimensions.
• Load steel wire, bars, or raw materials into welding equipment.
• Adjust machine settings including spacing, welding parameters, feed rates, and alignment.
• Inspect finished products for weld integrity, dimensions, spacing, and overall quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues and report major problems to maintenance personnel.
• Read and interpret production orders, blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production records and downtime reports.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, or material handling equipment as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S or housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams to meet production goals.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Frequently lift, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and work around moving machinery.
• Must be able to work in hot, noisy, and dusty manufacturing environments.
• Industrial steel manufacturing environment
• Exposure to welding sparks, moving equipment, vibration, and loud noise
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toeboots, and welding PPE as needed.
• Knowledge of automated welding systems.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
• Basic computer or HMI (Human Machine Interface) experience.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience with welding machines, wire processing equipment, or steel fabrication equipment is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read measuring devices and production documents accurately.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Schedule: 1st shift

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
