Ritron is looking for a ATE (Automated Test Equipment) Software Development Engineer to join our growing wireless products engineering team in Carmel, Indiana.
The ATE Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain desktop applications and automated test scripts used in Ritron’s manufacturing ATE stations to support test and validation of Ritron two-way radio products. This software will interface with radio communications test equipment and related hardware to improve automation, reduce test time, and support product quality. This individual will report to the Engineering Manager with day-to-day tasks coordinated through the Chief Software Engineer.
Tasks:
- Develop Desktop apps/test scripts to control sophisticated radio communication test sets in the alignment and quality assurance testing of Ritron two-way radio products.
- Develop Desktop apps/test scripts to:
- Maximize automation and reduce testing time.
- To collect, correlate, and make “actionable” data collected from ATE stations.
- Leverage modern integration tools (REST/Graph APIs, automation/workflow platforms such as Power Automate, databases, and reporting/dashboards) to modernize the ATE software ecosystem and improve traceability and responsiveness.
- Upgrade and convert legacy VB.net WinForms ATE Applications for use with new radio communications test sets, and other critical interface systems.
- Work with cross-functional teams for best understanding of the process and, to achieve highest quality results.
- Design any electronic or mechanical interfaces required by the ATE process with the assistance of other team members.
- Design and implement next generation test software with a focus on cross platform functionality.
Experience:
- AAS with significant relevant experience considered (Portfolio Review) or BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years nominal, but entry level will be considered based upon proven expertise and knowledge.
- Strong programming experience required; hands-on test/instrumentation experience preferred.
- Prior use and knowledge of the Visual Studio Professional IDE (Experience with other IDE’s also appreciated)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and continual improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a multi-cultural and international team environment.
- Experience in the use of source code management tools and best practice processes, preferably in Git/GitHub.
- Apply best practices: version control, code reviews, documentation, and structured release/change control for manufacturing-critical software.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
