Athletic Trainer – Occupational Health

Job Overview

Salary: $75,000 annually

Schedule: Full-time, 50–60 hours per week

Position Summary:

We are seeking a certified Athletic Trainer to join our Occupational Health team. This role focuses on injury prevention, early intervention, ergonomic assessments, employee wellness, and return-to-work programs within an industrial and occupational setting. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with employees, supervisors, safety personnel, and healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site injury prevention and early intervention services for employees.
  • Conduct musculoskeletal assessments and evaluate workplace injuries.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and wellness programs.
  • Perform ergonomic evaluations and recommend workplace modifications.
  • Assist with return-to-work and transitional duty programs.
  • Educate employees on stretching, body mechanics, injury prevention, and wellness initiatives.
  • Document employee encounters and maintain accurate records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with occupational health providers, safety teams, and management to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workplace health and safety.
  • Respond to workplace injuries and provide first aid within the scope of practice.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and health promotion events as needed.

Qualifications Required

  • Active certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
  • Current Athletic Trainer licensure or eligibility to practice in the applicable state.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced occupational health environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in occupational health, industrial settings, manufacturing, or workplace injury prevention.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and workers' compensation processes.
  • Experience with return-to-work programs and employee wellness initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout a worksite for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
