Job Purpose
To implement athletics activities and services (varsity and athletics clubs) in line with the student experience strategy and ensure all athletics activities and events are delivered in a timely and efficient manner for RIT students.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the Fitness Centre and its operations.
- Ensure all Fitness Centre regulations are adhered to.
- Oversee and deliver Fitness and wellbeing programming for the RIT community.
- Oversee the athletics clubs and competitions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of all athletics policies, procedures, processes in line with the student experience strategy
- Support the identification of athletics, recreational and student wellbeing initiatives and execute athletics activities and events for the RIT community
- Purchase and replenish athletics equipment and oversee the maintenance of all athletics equipment and facilities
- Contribute to the development of promotional and branding materials to raise awareness of sport athletes, athletics clubs, athletics events, and wellbeing activities
- Assist with semester sport try-outs for all sport teams
- Contribute to the development of the athletics calendar/timeline/schedule and monitor and communicate the athletics calendar to students to support the delivery of athletics requirements
- Coordinate sport team transportation as required
- Ensuring that the FC is set accurately for daily recreational activities
- Support the recording, maintenance and safeguarding of athletics related documentation and information as per RIT policies and procedures
- Responsible for monitoring sport team equipment inventory, maintaining all equipment and ensuring equipment is always readily available for use
- Assist in the sport team uniform order
- Coordinate with sport coaches as required
- Support the development and execution of intra-university tournaments and competitions and ensure all athletics events and activities are delivered in line with RIT policies and procedures and student experience strategy.
- Address and respond to athletics related queries from students in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Athletics Officer in charge of Varsity Sport to implement fitness programs and training for Varsity teams.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned / needed in order to meet the requirements of the role and the goals of the Institute.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including QHSE requirements using RIT policies and procedures as appropriate
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University in sport-related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in similar role
- Personal training certification or a relevant qualification preferred
- Strength and Conditioning certification preferred
- English Language Fluency, with fluency in at least one other language.
- Advanced organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to represent the institute in a professional manner
