Attorney

Bloomfield Hills, United States

About Us

We are a Florida-based law firm expanding into Michigan with a strong focus on personal injury and PIP litigation. Our cases include auto accidents, trucking crashes, and premises liability. Every case is prepared as if it will go to trial. We are looking for an attorney who can step into a growing Michigan office and operate with a high level of independence.

What You’ll Do

You will take responsibility for your own cases and help establish our Michigan litigation practice. Your work will include:

  • Managing a caseload of personal injury and PIP files from intake through resolution or trial
  • Drafting and responding to discovery, pleadings, motions, and memoranda
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Handling hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Communicating directly with clients, providers, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Preparing cases for trial, including exhibits, witnesses, and strategy sessions
  • Negotiating settlements where appropriate
  • Having the freedom to bring in your own cases and help expand the practice into new divisions or sub-specialties if you have the drive and passion

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who brings:

  • Admission to the Michigan Bar in good standing
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience in personal injury, PIP, or related areas
  • Experience with Michigan’s no-fault system and auto litigation strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple files without constant supervision
  • Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Confidence in client communication and case strategy
  • Initiative to take ownership of files while collaborating with firm leadership when needed
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) is a plus, not required

Work Setup

This role is based in Bloomfield Hills. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy since senior leadership will not always be onsite. You will have direct support from Florida leadership and local staff, but this position requires someone who can manage cases day to day without constant in-person oversight.

Compensation and Growth

  • Base salary depending on experience
  • Origination bonuses for cases you bring in
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to results
  • Real opportunity to help build the Michigan office and grow with the firm

Why Join Us

  • Take a lead role in building out our Michigan litigation practice
  • Gain hands-on trial exposure in personal injury and PIP cases
  • Work in a firm that values autonomy, initiative, and results
  • A culture focused on growth and serving underserved communities who need strong advocates
