Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

About the Role
A growing California-based workers’ compensation defense practice is seeking attorneys at all experience levels to join its expanding team. The organization has a strong statewide presence and is recognized for its positive workplace culture and employee-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in workers’ compensation matters.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex issues, and prepare legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Manage caseload efficiently and adhere to internal procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Experience in workers’ compensation defense is highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Client-focused, proactive, and comfortable using technology.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and keyboards.
  • Ability to read printed materials and view computer screens.
  • Clear verbal communication in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to move within an office environment and handle office equipment.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to travel to court when required.

Location
Remote work available for California residents. Office locations include Agoura Hills, Oxnard, Encino, Inland Empire, Long Beach, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose.

Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive compensation package, multiple bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and optional voluntary dental coverage. Employer-paid Bar dues, CLEs, and additional incentives are also provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
