POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK
ATTORNEY (FULL-TIME) in MATRIMONIAL and FAMILY LAW

The Rochester office of Whitcomb Law Firm, P.C. has an immediate opening for an Attorney. Whitcomb Law Firm, P.C. is a general practice firm located in the Finger Lakes region of New York and handles matters primarily in the counties of Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne.

The position will provide direct legal representation primarily in Matrimonial and Family Court matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, child support, family offense proceedings, adoptions and guardianships.

Core responsibilities and skills sought include:

□ Meeting with clients and managing individual caseload, including initial consultations.

□ Drafting and filing appropriate paperwork with various courts. Previous knowledge of the NYS Courts Electronic Filing (NYSCEF) – E-Courts is preferred.

□ Ability to handle Family Court hearings and Matrimonial trials.

□ Self-sufficient and ability to work with great independence and autonomy.

□ Ability to manage staff and direct their work flow and skill to support them so they can get their work done. This is an important note. If you are an attorney who is of the mindset that the staff exists to simply support you, we do not want you to apply. This is a team based atmosphere and the attorneys exist to support the staff just as much if not more than the other way around. Law firm staff need attorneys who can provide clear direction and goals as well as guidance so they can accomplish what they must get done, and ultimately provide the highest level client outcomes.

Whitcomb Law Firm, P.C. is a growing law practice seeking to add an attorney to its Rochester office who can manage a caseload while providing leadership assistance. Requirements:

□ Admission to New York State Bar

□ At least one (1) year practice

□ Experience in core areas listed above highly preferred

Desired Technical Skills:

□ Experience with NYSCEF

□ Excellent use of Google, Microsoft OneDrive, Word and Excel

□ Experience with CLIO client management and billing software

□ Ability to scan, convert documents into PDF’s

Salary and Benefits:

Dependent upon experience and qualifications.
