With an exceptional business law attorney mentor- Matthew Van Horn who has won multiple court of appeals cases and high level business cases in Business Court, this position will allow for a cross bar of experience between family law and business law. Ashley Michael is an award winning specialist attorney teaching family law litigation strategies offered to expand the kindness and also pointedness of family law In addition to Matthew's skills. Our team of professionals is designed to bring the most comprehensive learning experience for an associate or of counsel position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody, child support, domestic violence, adoption, separation agreements, and related issues.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, conferences, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain clear, compassionate, and prompt communication with clients.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure streamlined case management.
  • Participate in firm meetings, case reviews, and team-building initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and energetic firm culture.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar (or eligible for reciprocity).
  • 1–3 years of family law experience preferred; recent graduates with strong interest in family law are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to client well-being.
  • Positive, proactive attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
