Blue Jay Property Management is fast-growing real estate investment and property management company seeking an Associate Attorney (Landlord–Tenant) to support our expanding multifamily portfolio in DC and Maryland. Key Responsibilities
- Handle landlord–tenant matters across our DC and Maryland properties
- Draft and review leases, notices, settlement agreements, and compliance documents
- Manage eviction filings, prepare cases, and represent ownership with a practical, business-focused approach
- Collaborate with property management teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Advise leadership on legal risk, regulatory compliance, and operational improvements
- Help build and refine internal legal processes as the company continues to scale
Qualifications
- 1–4 years of landlord–tenant or housing law experience (DC experience strongly preferred)
- Licensed attorney (DC or MD; both a plus)
- Comfortable with courtroom appearances and high-volume case management
- Excellent communication skills; able to turn legal analysis into actionable guidance
- Thrives in a fast-moving, startup-style environment
