Averill & Reaney is a law firm seeking an attorney four our Covington, Louisiana office. The firm was founded by Matthew Averill and Brian Reaney in 2023 and has quickly grown from two employees to ten employees since then. We are dedicated to our clients and maintain a supportive environment for our employees. We represent policyholders in insurance disputes, focusing exclusively on the plaintiff side. Our work centers on holding insurers accountable—challenging wrongful denials, underpayments, and bad-faith practices—to ensure our clients receive the full benefits and compensation they are owed.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and litigate cases.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
- Prepare and present legal arguments in court.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy and preparation.

Skills:
- Strong research skills, with proficiency in using legal research databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective legal drafting and communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop sound legal strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills to advocate for clients' interests.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
