Attorney Recruiting and Development Assistant

Williams & Connolly LLP is seeking an Attorney Recruiting and Development Assistant. Under the direction of the Chief of Attorney Talent and Manager of Attorney Recruiting and Development, the candidate's primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing associate and summer associate applications using FloRecruit and Symplicity;
  • Assisting in the preparation of Hiring Committee meetings by scanning and organizing candidate materials;
Preparing and assembling orientation documents for incoming associates and summer associates, including maintaining the firm's intranet portal and distributing, tracking, and filing onboarding documents;
  • Providing logistical support for internal and external social events for attorneys and summer associates including but not limited to nametags and attendance tracking;
  • Assisting with the summer associate hiring cycle by:
o Submitting law school registration forms and fees;
o Generating interview materials through Symplicity;
o Uploading candidate materials to FloRecruit;
o Coordinating with various career services offices; and
o Greeting and escorting applicants at the firm.
  • Attending WALRAA/NALP meetings and events as needed;
  • Processing vendor invoices, expenses and reimbursements for associates and summer associates as they relate to travel, meals, hotels, moving, bar and other onboarding reimbursements; and
  • Providing general administrative support for the Professional Development Administrator, Manager of Women's Initiatives, and Senior Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, all of whom report to the Chief of Attorney Talent.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, and will exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times. The candidate must have the ability to prioritize competing deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and with all levels of the firm and department personnel. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of viRecruit, FloRecruit and Symplicity is a plus. One to two years of experience in a law firm recruiting department or law school career services office is preferred. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

The working hours for this position are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. The candidate must also be available for in-person work and overtime, including early mornings, evenings and weekends during the heavy recruiting period (April - June), and must be available and able to travel around the DC metro area to attend recruiting related events. After successfully completing the introductory period, the candidate will be eligible to work the department's approved hybrid schedule.

Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following:
  • Prolonged periods using a sit-to-stand desk and working on a computer.
  • Repetitive movements, including typing on a keyboard and using a mouse.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
  • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
This is a non-exempt position. The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $30.76 - $35.89, which equates to $60,000 - $70,000 on an annual basis based when working the standard 1,950-hour annual work schedule. The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications.
