Attorney - Workers Compensation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including hearings and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and trial briefs.
  • Develop and implement discovery strategies and evaluate case merits to provide recommendations on settlement versus trial.
  • Negotiate settlement agreements and handle case finalization in compliance with agreed terms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulations in Florida.
  • Collaborate with clients and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes while protecting client interests.
  • Utilize case management and document review software for effective case handling.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and work independently.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,211.15 - $108,641.38 per year
