The Audio Visual Specialist will be responsible for the technical design, installation, optimization, and support of complex audio-visual systems. This role requires a highly detail-oriented professional who can translate client requirements into robust AV solutions that blend leading-edge technology with exceptional user experiences. The AV specialist will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and on-site technicians to ensure seamless project delivery from initial concept to final execution.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Integration:

Develop comprehensive AV system designs, including selecting appropriate hardware, software, and network components.

Produce system diagrams, schematics, and architectural drawings using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio).
Installation & Configuration:

Coordinate and oversee on-site installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and best practices.

Configure and calibrate audio processors, video switchers, displays, control systems (Crestron, Extron), and other AV equipment.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide Tier 2/3 support for AV-related issues, diagnosing and resolving system faults promptly.

Implement quality assurance tests, including signal flow checks, performance tuning, and interoperability validations.
Project Collaboration & Management:

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to refine scopes, timelines, and resource needs.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to ensure understanding and satisfaction with AV solutions.
Documentation & Training:

Maintain detailed system documentation, manuals, and standard operating procedures.

Conduct training sessions for end-users, internal staff, or field technicians on AV system operation and maintenance.
Research & Development:

Stay current with emerging AV technologies, standards, and industry trends.

Recommend updates or enhancements to existing solutions and explore innovative approaches that increase system efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience:
-
3+ years of hands-on experience in AV system engineering, integration, or support. Preferably someone who also has experience in ELV systems.

Proven track record of working with professional audio, video, conferencing, and control systems.
Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of AV equipment: digital mixers, DSPs, video processors, projectors, LED walls, microphones, and cameras.

Experience with industry-standard control platforms (Crestron, AMX, Extron) and video conferencing solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex).

Strong understanding of networking principles (IP, VLANs, PoE) and familiarity with AV-over-IP protocols.

Proficiency in CAD software, signal flow diagrams, and system documentation tools.
