Audiologist

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Conduct thorough audiometric evaluations to assess hearing ability and diagnose auditory disorders.
2. Administer advanced diagnostic procedures such as Otoacoustic emissions (OAE), auditory brainstem response (ABR), and tympanometry.
3. Interpret test results and collaborate with medical professionals to determine appropriate treatment plans.
4. Recommend and fit hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and other hearing enhancement technologies.
5. Provide comprehensive counseling and education to patients and their families on hearing health and communication strategies.
6. Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
7. Stay abreast of advancements in audiology research, technology, and treatment modalities.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
9. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventative measures if applicable.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collect and redistribute personal radiation dosimeter badges for record-keeping and explain their usage to radiation workers.
• Update all staff with their radiation dosimeter readings every 3 months.
• Keep records of all personnel radiation dosimeter readings and report any excess exposures.
• Ensure that each worker in radiation areas wears a personal dosimeter during work.
• Investigate accidents or incidents involving radiation exposure to ensure safety protocols are followed.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Audiology.
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages.
• License for practice as per regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS / DHA), BLS.
• 3 - 5 Years' experience in conducting audiological assessments and providing rehabilitation services.
