Hearts for Hearing seeking an Audiology Assistant to join our team in a hybrid role supporting both our Norman and Oklahoma City clinics. The audiology assistant supports audiologists in the delivery of hearing healthcare services across the lifespan. Working under the supervision and licensure of an audiologist, the assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support to improve the efficiency, accessibility, and quality of services. In addition, this role provides administrative support to enhance clinical workflow and promote an exceptional patient and family experience. Key Responsibilities
Patient Support & Clinical Responsibilities
· Complete device checks and troubleshooting appointments including hearing technology cleaning, device troubleshooting and maintenance, connectivity support, repair pick-ups.
· Process incoming and outgoing device repairs, both in and out of the warranty period. Assistants may advise patients of expected out-of-pocket fees associated with repairs.
· Process technology drop-offs or walk-ins as the schedule allows in accordance with clinic policy.
· Complete device selections including completion of the device order form in accordance with selected manufacturer.
· Complete hearing aid or cochlear implant order processing and monitoring device movement through the delivery process to ensure adequate time for device fitting or activation.
· Prepare and provide necessary fitting paperwork for new device fittings or activations. Ensure devices are charged and supplies are prepared for upcoming fittings or activations.
· Process loss and damage claims and update warranty information as needed.
· Process cochlear implant upgrade paperwork and monitor upgrade status in collaboration with the device manufacturer.
· Maintain organization of clinic loaners, donated devices, stock, and supplies. Place orders through appropriate avenues depending on order type.
· Advise Director and Division Director of changes in manufacturer pricing, promotional opportunities, as available.
· Facilitate communication between patients, families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other team members, as necessary.
· Train in other specialty areas as needed based on organizational needs. Audiology assistants may provide support for pediatric and adult patients.
Education & Support
· Provide access to HFH online resources and educational materials regarding hearing technology.
· Connect patients with needed support, counseling, and community resources
· Address patient questions and concerns throughout the process
Administrative Duties
· Maintain comprehensive patient records (referrals, scheduled, candidates, etc.) and update as needed.
· Complete documentation of clinic appointments in a timely and accurate manner.
· Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
