Audiovisual Presales & Testing and Commissioning Engineer
Role Overview
The Audiovisual Presales & Testing and Commissioning Engineer supports sales teams and channel partners by designing compliant AV solutions, providing technical validation, and ensuring systems are correctly tested, commissioned, and handed over in line with manufacturer standards and project requirements.
This role acts as a technical bridge between manufacturers, system integrators, consultants, and end clients, ensuring solution accuracy, performance, and long-term reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Presales Engineering
- Support sales teams and system integrators with AV system design, product selection, and solution architecture.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and RFPs to ensure technical compliance.
- Prepare and review technical submittals, BOQs, compliance matrices, and method statements.
- Provide value engineering options while maintaining performance and compliance.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demos, and solution briefings to consultants and clients.
- Coordinate with manufacturers for design approvals, special configurations, and performance validation.
- Support acoustic, SPL, coverage, and video signal flow concepts where applicable.
- Provide guidance on networked AV, control systems, and interoperability.
Testing & Commissioning
- Develop testing and commissioning plans in line with manufacturer and project standards.
- Support system integrators during installation verification, configuration, and commissioning.
- Perform or witness:
- Audio tuning, EQ, delay, and level calibration
- Video signal testing, resolution and EDID verification
- Control system functionality testing
- Network configuration and AV-over-IP validation
- Ensure systems meet performance criteria, design intent, and consultant requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning and handover stages.
- Verify system compliance with local authority regulations where applicable.
Documentation & Handover
- Prepare and review as-built drawings, test reports, and commissioning certificates.
- Ensure proper system documentation, user manuals, and training materials are provided.
- Support end-user training and operational handover.
- Provide feedback to sales and product teams on system performance and field issues.
Coordination & Support
- Act as the main technical interface between manufacturer, distributor, SI, and consultant.
- Provide post-sales technical support and escalation assistance.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) when required.
- Assist in defining best practices, standard design templates, and commissioning procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Electronics, Audio Engineering, AV, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of professional audio, video, control, and networking systems.
- Hands-on experience with testing, tuning, and commissioning of AV systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturer software tools (DSP, controllers, LED processors, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with AV distributors or manufacturers.
- Exposure to large-scale commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
- Knowledge of international AV standards (IEC, AES, AVIXA best practices).

Contract length: 24 months
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
