Position Overview:
The Audit & Advisory Externship offers undergraduate students an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the world of federal accounting and consulting. Over the course of two days to one week, externs will experience what it’s like to be part of a professional services team dedicated to public service.

Externs will rotate through both Audit and Advisory service lines to observe real client projects, participate in interactive learning sessions, and gain insight into the responsibilities of professionals supporting federal financial management.

Key Learning Opportunities:

• Understand the fundamentals of federal audit and assurance engagements

• Learn how advisory teams assist clients with process improvement, internal controls, and risk management

• Gain exposure to federal financial reporting, compliance, and consulting services

• Experience Castro & Company’s collaborative culture and mission-driven environment

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Current undergraduate student (rising junior or senior preferred)

• Strong academic performance

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Eager to learn, proactive, and collaborative

• U.S. citizenship required (due to potential federal client exposure)
