Valon’s Compliance team is a growing, fast-paced team with a goal of building a mortgage servicing platform that both empowers mortgage servicing and MLOs to focus on providing exceptional services and also delivers a transparent product experience to homeowners. As an Audit and Exam Coordinator (Hourly) at Valon, you will provide administrative and operational support for the audit and exam functions within Valon’s servicing business.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Audit and Exam Support Specialist (Hourly) to join our Legal Risk Compliance team. In this role, you will support the coordination and execution of state exams, external audits, and internal review processes. You will work closely with team members and business partners in Lending & Servicing to help track requests, organize documentation, and ensure timely responses during audits and exams.
This is an entry-level to early-career opportunity ideal for someone interested in gaining experience in mortgage servicing compliance within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. The right candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable handling administrative tasks with accuracy and consistency.
Provide administrative support for audits and exams, including tracking requests and deadlines
Assist in gathering, organizing, and submitting documentation for audit and exam requests
Maintain trackers for audit findings, requests, and remediation status
Support follow-ups with internal stakeholders to ensure timely responses
Help log and organize incoming audit and exam questions
Assist in preparing materials for audits, exams, and internal reviews
Perform data entry and documentation updates in internal systems (e.g., Jira or similar tools)
Support the team with general coordination and process-related tasks
Other duties as assigned
1–2+ years of experience in an administrative, operations, or support role (mortgage or financial services experience is a plus but not required)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working with spreadsheets, trackers, and documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on deadlines
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with tools like Jira, Excel, or similar systems is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle administrative tasks with accuracy
Strong reliability and attention to detail
