Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Audit & Compliance Manager with strong UAE experience to oversee audit, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting processes. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of statutory filings (Corporate Tax, VAT), compliance with AML regulations, and adherence to internal policies. The Audit & Compliance Manager will supervise and review the work of the team, identify process gaps, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen business operations and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee audit work and compliance filings (Corporate Tax, VAT, and other statutory obligations), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead and coordinate audit activities both at client sites and internally, ensuring work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth execution of audits, compliance checks, and reporting processes.
- Supervise and review the work of audit and compliance staff, validating outputs and providing guidance before sign-off by senior management or partners.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS in all financial reporting and advise on the treatment of complex transactions.
- Identify and report gaps, risks, and compliance issues in company processes to senior management.
- Review internal controls, business processes, and policies; recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to UAE laws and regulations, including AML and other financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and consultants as needed.
- Mentor and train junior staff, building capability in audit methodology and compliance practices.
Requirements
- Professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, MBA Finance) required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in audit, finance, or compliance in UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, AML, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead audit engagements from planning through completion.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and practical application to financial reporting.
- Proven experience reviewing audit work and supervising teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
