About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Authority Liaison Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This critical role requires a professional who can seamlessly navigate regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with government authorities across the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
Authority Coordination & Approvals
- Manage and coordinate all approvals and inspections with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Development Authority (DDA), Trakhees, Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), and Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) as a Registered Engineer (RE)
- Ensure timely submission and follow-up of all authority-related documentation
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and building codes
Abu Dhabi Municipality Operations
- Coordinate and submit permit applications to Abu Dhabi Municipality (AUH Municipality)
- Track permit status and resolve any issues or rejections
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipality officials
- Stay updated on the latest regulations and procedural changes
Technical Documentation
- Prepare and submit architectural and engineering plans/drawings to Abu Dhabi authorities
- Review technical drawings for compliance with authority requirements
- Coordinate with internal design teams and external consultants
- Manage document control and maintain accurate records
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government authorities
- Liaise with engineering consultants, contractors, and project teams
- Provide regular updates to management on approval status and timelines
- Facilitate smooth communication across all project stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Essential Experience (Mandatory)
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as an Authority Liaison or similar role
- Dubai Authorities Experience: Demonstrated track record handling approvals and inspections with DM, DDA, Trakhees, DCD, DEWA, and RTA as a Registered Engineer (RE)
- Abu Dhabi Municipality Expertise: Hands-on experience coordinating and submitting permits with Abu Dhabi Municipality
- Technical Submission Skills: Proven experience submitting plans and technical drawings to Abu Dhabi authorities
- Engineering Consultancy Background: Previous experience working in or with engineering consultancy firms
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with authority online portals and submission systems
- Strong understanding of civil defense, MEP, and structural requirements
- Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD knowledge is a plus)

- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is highly advantageous)
