Auto Body Paint Technician/Automotive fabricator

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural realignment using advanced tools and techniques.
• Fabricate custom parts and modify existing components using sheet metal, welding (MIG, TIG, and arc), soldering, and other fabrication methods to meet specific repair or restoration needs.
• Conduct vehicle assessments to determine necessary repairs, estimate parts and labor requirements, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and other equipment to prepare surfaces for painting or refinishing.
• Apply auto painting techniques including sanding, priming, color matching, and finishing to achieve a flawless appearance.
• Replace auto glass securely while ensuring proper sealing and alignment for safety and aesthetics.
• Assist in auto restoration projects by restoring vintage or damaged vehicles to their original condition with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

Skills

• Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair and fabrication.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, sheet metal work, auto painting, auto glass installation, and auto estimating.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and heavy lifting techniques.
• Skilled in vehicle maintenance procedures including auto restoration, assembly, detailing, and automotive repair.
• Knowledge of airless paint spraying techniques for high-quality finishes.
• Familiarity with automotive systems such as auto body structures, chassis alignment, and auto glass installation.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate repair processes clearly while maintaining professionalism.
