Auto Body Painter

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive refinish and repair, with a strong background in auto body painting. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Auto Body Painter will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint using various techniques, and ensuring high-quality finishes.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning vehicles.
• Apply paint using airless paint spraying techniques and ensure even coverage.
• Perform buffing and detailing to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Conduct auto body repairs as needed, including welding and mechanical adjustments.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance and restoration projects.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
• Estimate costs for repairs and painting services accurately.
• Handle heavy lifting of parts and materials as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in auto body painting is essential; dealership experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in auto body repair techniques, including welding and detailing.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as necessary.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Experience in auto estimating is preferred but not required.
