Auto Body Shop Helper

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with vehicle repairs, including bodywork, sanding, and detailing to ensure high-quality results
• Support with the preparation and application of auto paint using airless paint spraying equipment and other finishing techniques
• Handle heavy lifting and move parts or vehicles safely around the shop to facilitate efficient workflow
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment such as MIG welders and soldering tools to aid in fabrication and repairs
• Maintain shop cleanliness by organizing tools, disposing of debris, and ensuring work areas are safe and tidy
• Support with auto glass replacement, sheet metal work, and minor mechanical tasks as needed
• Help with vehicle maintenance tasks including basic diagnostics, auto restoration projects, and assembly work

Requirements

• Prior dealership experience or background in automotive repair is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with MIG welding, fabrication, sheet metal work, and auto painting techniques
• Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto body repair processes
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and auto glass installation methods
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy shop environment
• Strong understanding of auto estimating procedures and customer service principles is a plus
• Experience with auto restoration projects or mechanic work will be considered an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail for finishing touches like detailing and auto painting quality standards
