About PDR-Team
PDR-Team supports hail events by combining best-in-class operations with our Colibri hail scanning technology. We work fast, organized, and with strong coordination between our U.S. team and our Europe-based hardware/software support team.

Role Summary
We are hiring a Technical Operations Manager to own Colibri scanner operations in the U.S. This role is hands-on and travel-ready: deploy the scanner to job sites, keep it running (maintenance + troubleshooting), and train others. Assembly/build work stays primarily in Germany — your focus is deployment readiness and field performance.

Why we’re hiring now
Our current scanner manager is leaving at the end of February (returning to Switzerland). We need a replacement ready for hail season starting in March.

What success looks like (first 90 days)
  • Understand the scanner end-to-end and operate it independently
  • Deploy and set up the scanner independently (site setup + readiness checks)
  • Troubleshoot issues independently and coordinate escalations with the Europe team
  • Identify and implement at least one improvement to make deployments smoother/faster

Core Responsibilities (after 90 days)
  • Own deployments independently (setup, readiness, and daily operations)
  • Own maintenance independently (preventive maintenance + troubleshooting)
  • Train new operators and document best practices

In Scope
  • Deployment (setup, readiness, field ops)
  • Maintenance (preventive + troubleshooting)
  • Training (new operators + documentation)

Startup flexibility (adjacent support areas)
  • Inventory and organization of storage (scanner equipment + overall CAT equipment)
  • Support running a CAT site with guidance/support (when needed)
  • Occasional back-office support (e.g., invoicing support) when priorities require it

Must-Have Skills
  • Prior hands-on experience in the automotive industry OR demonstrated experience working in/with the insurance claims process
  • Strong technical affinity — proven ability to quickly learn and independently operate new hardware and software systems
  • Hands-on hardware maintenance and troubleshooting experience — must be able to provide a concrete example
  • Comfortable towing and driving larger vehicles and trailers, including ~30 ft trailer
  • Highly independent and self-directed — able to own outcomes without day-to-day supervision
  • Willing and able to travel on short notice, with trips of 1–2 weeks duration
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely with an international hardware/software support team

Travel & schedule
  • Estimated travel: ~60% (typical trips 1–2 weeks depending on hail events)
  • Must be flexible for short-notice deployments during hail season

Physical requirements
  • Able to lift/carry heavy equipment and perform setup tasks
  • Able to climb ladders and work safely around equipment and trailers

Compensation & incentives
  • W-2 (salary), full-time
  • Target salary range: $70,000–$80,000 (depending on experience)
  • Profit-share / performance incentive: defined based on company performance and role contribution
  • 90-day introductory period supported by a clear 30-60-90 plan

Travel compensation (when overnight travel is required)
  • Per diem: $70/day
  • Lodging: up to $120/night
  • Fuel/business travel covered
  • If a job site is more than a 6-hour drive away, flights home are provided every second week
  • After two months of continuous travel, the manager may work two weeks locally in the Dallas region

Equipment provided
  • Company computer + phone (and iPad if needed for operations)
