Auto Damage Appraiser

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Auto Damage Appraiser to inspect vehicle damage by photos and occasional field inspection and prepare repair estimates for insurance claims. The ideal candidate has a background in auto claims, collision repair estimating, or vehicle damage inspection and is proficient in industry estimating platform CCC ONE.

This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of vehicle repair procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively with repair facilities, claim representatives, and vehicle owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle damage via photo estimating with occasional field inspections
• Prepare accurate repair estimates using CCC ONE
• Determine repair vs. total loss when appropriate
• Review repair estimates submitted by collision repair facilities
• Negotiate repair costs and procedures with body shops
• Document damage and upload photos and reports into claim systems
• Maintain compliance with insurance carrier guidelines and state regulations
• Provide timely claim updates and estimate revisions when needed

Required Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must have at least one of the following backgrounds:

• Auto Damage Appraiser or Auto Claims Adjuster experience
• Collision repair estimator experience
• Independent vehicle damage inspection experience

Additional requirements:

• Experience using CCC ONE
• Knowledge of collision repair methods and vehicle construction
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for field roles)

Preferred Qualifications

• I-CAR certification
• ASE certification (collision repair or estimating)
• Prior experience working with insurance carriers or independent appraisal firms
• Experience with total loss evaluation systems

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
