Job Overview
The Auto Damage Desk Appraiser will be responsible for completing auto physical damage estimates with quality, efficiency, and following industry repair procedures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in writing auto damage estimates, being proficient in estimating software and expertise in the insurance industry.
Duties
- Conduct virtual estimates and supplements based on photos provided by the customer or body shop in an efficient manner
- Accurately assess vehicle damages and complete a thorough estimate using proper repair procedures
- Adheres to company claims procedures and guidelines
- Negotiates with auto repair facilities and reaches agreement for cost of repair
- Evaluate the Actual Cash Value of a vehicle determined to be a total loss following company guidelines
- Settle vehicles determined to be a total loss
- Identify and report underwriting concerns or evidence of external fraud to appropriate channels
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Skills
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrative ease with both verbal and written formats.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- A high degree of motivation and team orientation.
- Direct, results driven, and dedicated to the success of the business and each other.
- 2+ years’ experience as an auto damage appraiser with an insurance company or as a body shop writer
- Experience with major estimating software
- Outstanding customer service and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Current Texas Property Casualty Adjuster License or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Understanding and ability to execute and comply with Texas Department of Insurance Guidelines and Requirements as established in the Insurance Code
- Exceptional negotiating skills
- Proficient computer skills with ability to function in all Microsoft Office Programs
- Highly organized
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement
- Non-Standard Claims Handling Experience preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
