Auto Heavy Equipment Trainer Oil & Gas

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Auto Heavy Equipment Trainer to deliver practical and classroom-based training for heavy equipment operators working in the Oil & Gas sector.

The role focuses on safe operation, equipment handling, and compliance with HSE standards while ensuring operators meet required competency levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and hands-on training on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, cranes, and forklifts
• Train operators on safe operating procedures (SOPs) and Oil & Gas site requirements
• Deliver training on basic equipment systems (engine, hydraulics, transmission, brakes, electrical)
• Assess operator competency through practical evaluations and written tests
• Maintain training records, attendance, and assessment reports
• Support onboarding, refresher, and re-certification programs
• Ensure full compliance with HSE and Oil & Gas safety standards
• Coordinate with Operations, HSE, and Maintenance teams

Requirements

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Automotive / Mechanical / Heavy Equipment
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with heavy equipment
• Training or mentoring experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas safety practices
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to conduct practical, site-based training

Preferred Certifications

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification
• Train the Trainer (TOT)
• HSE / IOSH / NEBOSH (added advantage)
