Our company is well diversified with appraisers across the state of Michigan. We have a group of staff appraisers who operate out of our main office and handle the Detroit Metro area. The remaining appraisers operate out of their home offices, which are strategically positioned across the outlying areas. We are capable of bringing extra personnel into a given area during peak volume periods. This provides our company with greater flexibility without sole reliance on a single appraiser. Our employees work for our company only. Haller Appraisal Service has never and will never sublet business to a freelance appraiser for another company.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:

This position is for someone who has general knowledge of automobiles in order to write estimates on damaged vehicles in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. It is required to be skilled in working with computers and have the ability to work in the field of handling insurance claims. An apprenticeship with an appraiser in the area will be provided, training you in the necessary requirements of the job. If interested, please email a copy of your resume.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

+ Effectively manage work assignments and promptly travel to location of vehicle/equipment

+ Execute prompt and immediate contact with vehicle/equipment owners to inspect loss, provide claim direction, exchange information, negotiate, settle and move vehicles/equipment as appropriate

+ Establish the physical damage claim value of assigned losses

+ Prepare and document accurate vehicle/equipment damage appraisals, Actual Cash and Replacement values according to insurance department regulations, Auto Best Practices and Appraisal Technical Resource Guide

+ Constant daily travel in the general Grand Rapids area of Michigan

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:

College or Technical School Degree strongly preferred

OTHER:

+ Minimum 1 year experience writing auto damage estimates in Ultramate, CCC, or Audatex.

+ Knowledge in working with computers

+ Capable of internet uploads

+ Trainable in different estimate writing programs

+ Desire and ability to learn how to handle range of vehicles from automotive to heavy machinery or specialty vehicles'

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
