Auto Technician Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components with precision and attention to detail.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to maintain optimal performance.
  • Repair or replace air brake systems on commercial vehicles and work with diesel engines to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive repair techniques to complete repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to ensure accurate repairs on GM vehicles or other makes with similar systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring their vehicle is returned in top condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while documenting all repair activities accurately for auto estimating purposes.

Experience

  • Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic background working on various vehicle types.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and suspension systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and auto body repair is a plus.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine repair, air brake systems, wheel alignments, tire service, shocks & struts replacement.
  • Skilled in reading schematics and using diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex automotive issues effectively.
  • Experience working with automotive electrical systems and performing welding or fabrication tasks when necessary.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to deliver high-quality automotive service in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
