AutoCAD Joinery Draftsman

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced senior AutoCAD draughtsman with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on drafting experience in joinery and fit-out. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing complex and detailed drawings with minimal supervision and will play a key role in supporting engineering or architectural teams. This position requires precision, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior draughtsmen.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on engineering or architectural specifications.

Interpret complex technical information, sketches, and field data to produce accurate shop drawings and layouts.

Review and check drawings for compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and project specifications.

Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure design intent is accurately reflected.

Assist in developing drafting standards and contribute to continuous improvement of drawing quality and processes.

Mentor and guide junior draughtsmen, providing training and quality checks.

Coordinate with on-site teams or clients for drawing clarifications, revisions, and updates.

Manage and organize drawing documentation and archives according to company protocols.

Participate in project planning meetings and offer input from a technical drawing perspective.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an AutoCAD draughtsman.

Diploma / ITI / Degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D and other CAD tools like Revit, SolidWorks, or Civil 3D are a plus).

Strong understanding of drafting standards, construction practices, and industry-specific codes.

Excellent attention to detail, technical accuracy, and time management.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Good communication skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
