Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to handle the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated production and packaging machines at our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The role involves ensuring uninterrupted operation of PLC-based systems, maintaining control instruments, and supporting automation improvements in compliance with GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of automated production and packaging machines.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Modify and update PLC and machine logic as required.
• Calibrate and maintain instrumentation and control systems related to production machinery.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment.
• Maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and maintenance records.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and company SOPs.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure machine performance and reliability.
• Identify automation improvement opportunities for increased efficiency and reduced downtime.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong practical knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Delta, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi preferred).
• Hands-on experience with VFDs, servo systems, HMIs, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic controls.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical machine automation (e.g., blistering, filling, labeling, granulation, and packaging lines).
• Knowledge of electrical control panels, instrumentation, and calibration.
• Familiarity with GMP documentation and validation processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Education & Experience:
DAE/Diploma in Electrical with 3-5 Years of Experience
