SPX FLOW is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer (Saudi National Only) to join our global engineering team supporting projects and bid proposals across the Food, Beverage, Dairy, and Hygienic Process industries.

This role focuses on the design, execution, and commissioning of automation systems for complex industrial process plants, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions that meet project and customer requirements across the full project lifecycle—from design and development to testing, commissioning, and aftermarket support.

You will also provide technical support during bids, feasibility studies, and site execution activities, while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Design & Engineering

• Develop complete automation solutions including system architecture and control philosophy
• Design and configure:
• • PLC software and control logic
  • HMI and SCADA systems
  • Industrial communication networks
  • System interfaces (MES, ERP, MIS, databases)
• Prepare Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Detailed Design Specifications (DDS)
• Select and specify automation hardware and software components
• Estimate system requirements such as I/O tags and control architecture sizing

Testing & Commissioning

• Perform software simulation and system validation
• Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT)
• Support site commissioning and troubleshooting activities
• Ensure smooth integration between automation and process systems

Project & Technical Support

• Provide automation support during bid and proposal stages
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies
• Assist Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and budgets

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe design of automation systems including E-Stop and isolation logic
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards (e.g. Machinery Directive)
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments
• Maintain adherence to SPX FLOW engineering procedures and best practices

Aftermarket Support

• Provide 24/7 technical support on a rotational basis (up to 1 week per month)
• Support customers with troubleshooting and system optimization

Travel to customer sites as required

Annual salary: 210,600 – 280,200 SAR, depending on experience and qualifications

What We’re Looking For

✔ Saudi National (mandatory requirement)
✔ Degree in Electrical, Automation, Control Systems, or related engineering discipline
✔ Experience in industrial automation systems (Food, Beverage, Dairy, or Process industries preferred)
✔ Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems
✔ Understanding of industrial communication networks and system integration
✔ Experience with FAT, CAT, and commissioning activities
✔ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
✔ Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams
✔ Basic English communication skills (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus

Preferred Experience

• S88-based automation system design
• MES / ERP integration experience
• Experience with hygienic process industries

• Exposure to international EPC project environments
